In today’s world of highlight reels, social media, and individual recognition, it’s easy to chase personal accomplishments. There’s nothing wrong with being proud of your hard work. But rugby has always demanded something different. It asks players to sacrifice for teammates, to do the unseen work, and to celebrate the success of others as much as their own.
The best players aren’t always the ones scoring tries.
Sometimes they’re the player making the tackle that saves the match. The teammate who cleans out the ruck so someone else can score. The veteran who stays an hour after training helping a new player learn how to pass. The volunteer setting up fields before anyone arrives. The referee who gives up their Saturday so others can play.

Every player borrows a jersey for a short period of time. Whether you wear it for one season or fifteen, someday you’ll hand it to the next generation. The question is simple:
Will your club be stronger because you were part of it?
Leaving the jersey better than you found it means more than winning championships.

Mentoring younger teammates.

Building Something Bigger Than Ourselves
Strong rugby communities don’t happen because of one superstar. They are built by hundreds of people making small sacrifices over many years. Parents driving carpools. Volunteers cooking burgers. Coaches teaching fundamentals. Former players returning to help. Sponsors believing in the mission. Referees giving their time.
Everyone contributes to the same logo.
When everyone puts the club first, amazing things happen. More kids discover rugby. More families become involved. More coaches are developed. More referees stay in the game. More players return after college. The entire community grows.

We believe rugby is strongest when clubs compete fiercely on match day but work together every other day to grow the game. By supporting youth programs, developing coaches and referees, assisting local clubs, and creating opportunities for new players to discover rugby, we are investing in something much bigger than any one team.
Our goal isn’t to build one successful club. Our goal is to build a stronger rugby community across the entire Kansas City metro—one that will serve players, families, and clubs for generations to come.
Because if we all choose the logo before the ego, everyone benefits.
The Challenge
The next time you pull on your club jersey, pause for a moment. Think about the people who built the club before you arrived. Think about the teammates standing beside you. Think about the young player who might someday wear that same jersey. Then ask yourself one question:
When my playing days are over, will this jersey be in better shape because I wore it? Will my club… and my rugby community…be stronger because I was part of it?
